Illegal taverna in Schinias National Park razed
One of five eateries that have been operating illegally in a protected national park have been bulldozed by regional authorities.
The demolition of the taverna located near the sea in the Schinias-Marathon National Park northeast of Athens took place on Thursday morning, amid heavy police presence.
However, no incident was reported.
Authorities are planning to demolish another four establishments by mid February.
The park is part of the Natura 2000 network.
